Family Therapy

Addressing the Roots of Family Tension and Disconnection

Family therapy is designed to help families navigate:

Communication Issues

Communication barriers and frequent misunderstandings that prevent healthy family interactions.

Family Conflicts

Conflicts between parents and children or among siblings that create tension in the household.

Life Transitions

Grief, loss, or major life transitions and traumatic events that impact the entire family system.

Behavioral Challenges

Coping with behavioral or emotional issues affecting family dynamics and relationships.

Blended Families

Blended family challenges and issues with adjusting to new family structures and relationships.

Divorce & Co-parenting

Adjusting to divorce, remarriage, or co-parenting arrangements in healthy ways.

Through collaborative and evidence-based approaches, we help each family member feel heard and supported—working together toward solutions that promote peace and emotional well-being.

A Collaborative Path Toward Harmony

At RTS, our family therapists use a blend of proven therapeutic methods, including:

Structural Family Therapy (SFT)

Strengthening structures and redefining roles to create healthier interactions and boundaries within the family.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Helping members understand how thoughts and behaviors influence family dynamics and developing healthier patterns.

Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT)

Encouraging empathy, emotional safety, and secure family bonds through validated emotional expression.

Each session is designed to build self-awareness, enhance empathy, and equip your family with tools to manage future challenges constructively.

Creating Space for Connection

During your first family session, your therapist will:

  • Learn about your family’s history, structure, and current concerns
  • Help set shared goals for therapy that address everyone’s needs
  • Establish open communication and mutual respect among family members

Sessions typically last 50–60 minutes and can be conducted in person or via telehealth for convenience. Progress happens over time as families begin to listen differently, respond with understanding, and heal together.
